• Project SHIFT

Students Harnessing Ideas for Future Transformation

    • About Project SHIFT

Project SHIFT is a 15-hour social innovation program for Grade 8–9 girls (including non-binary and queer students).

Participants work in small, mentored teams to:

      • Explore real-world social challenges
      • Apply design thinking to create practical solutions
      • Build confidence, leadership, and critical problem-solving skills
      • Present their ideas through a public showcase

The program shifts learning from memorisation to thinking deeply, questioning assumptions, and taking action.

      The SHIFT

Project SHIFT represents a shift in how students learn, moving from passive learning to problem- and project based learning.

This shift moves students through clear transformations:

      • From memorising answers to asking better questions
      • From classroom exercises to real-world challenges
      • From quick fixes to understanding root causes
      • From ideas to action and tested solutions
      • From students to confident changemakers
